Pimps might say that they are businessmen, photographers, movie directors…anything that they think will lure a girl in.
In reality, pimps keep girls’ money, lie to them, beat them, and take advantage of them any way they can.
Pimps are looking for girls who are alone, who need something, who have run away or need a place to stay, who have low self-esteem.
Pimps can be male or female, but most are male.
Pimps make all sorts of empty promises. They might promise a girl that one day they are going to “retire” and start a family, have a different life together… This never happens. Like everything with pimps, that promise is a lie.
Pimps do everything they can to make girls feel worthless, and like they deserve to be hurt and abused.
Pimps beat and threaten girls so that they feel trapped and like they have nowhere else to go. It’s not easy to get out of sexual exploitation once you’re in it, but it’s possible with the help of the Georgia Care Connection. If you need help, call the Georgia Care Connection at 404-602-0068.
To break it down really simple, a pimp is someone who makes money by ruining other peoples’ lives.
In songs, on TV, in the movies, and even in conversations with friends, the words “pimp” and “pimping” are glamorized and are sometimes supposed to mean a good thing…
Now that you know what pimping is really about, let your friends know. Pimping isn’t about sex, or sex appeal. It is about abuse and control. Pimping isn’t cool, it’s child abuse.
Talk with your parents, teachers, friends and family about sexual exploitation in our city and why we’re not going to just accept it!
